New family

            It was a warm, sunny day in the summer outside, as the little brown wolf pup squeaked cutely in his mother's arms.  Valarie gently rocked her two week old pup, as she sat on the green grass, while her mate was examining their other black wolf pup curiously. Both were new parents, and were kind of clueless on how to raise children. Slash carefully rubs the black pup's left ear with two of his fingers, as he looks over to Valarie with a smirk.

"This is actually easier than I thought it would be.."

            Valarie smiled at him, and nodded in agreement. It was true that their two pups, Axel and Damien, were being fairly easy on them. Most children at their age would cry their eyes out and demand attention 24/7. So far, the pup's personalities were starting to show more, too.  Damien didn't enjoy being hugged or touched much, while Axel simply loved it. If you leave Axel alone for even three hours, he'll start to cry. While Damien on the other hand, was opposite. Give him too much attention, and he'll start to try and squirm away from you.

     Slash noticed him squirming more in his grasp, and decided to gently place him on the soft grass. He wasn't strong enough to walk yet, but he was already starting to sit up and crawl. Damien twitched his bushy tail a little, as he slowly sat up and looked up at his parents with his crimson red eyes.

"… He looks a lot like you, Slash." Valarie stated airily, as she rubbed Axel's short, fluffy fur down. Slash just nodded in agreement.

    "Yeah, but Axel has your eyes… And your fur. I can't believe we actually have pups now…"  

They were definitely both shocked when Valarie figured out she was pregnant with twins, and that Slash was indeed the father.  Instead of splitting (like some fathers do), Slash decided to stay with her through the pregnancy, and even raise their children together in the same house. He really did love her… Even if he was a demon.

   "You don't think it's a bad thing… Right?" Valarie asked, as her heart constricted faintly. She knew Slash would never leave, but just the thought of him rejecting their pups…

   But Slash quickly shook his head, and assured her that having them wasn't the case. "No, it's a good thing… I just never suspected we would be parents so young.."

You know the old saying "always use protection"? Well, that's what they didn't use.

    While they were talking, Damien sneakily crawled over to his mother and reached up to pull on Axel's tail, which was draped comfortably over his mother's arm. As Damien tugged on it, Axel let out a small cry of pain. Both of the parents blinked, and looked down to Damien in wonder.

      He was only two weeks old, and he was already antagonizing his brother.

    Axel continued to cry, as Slash reached over to pry Damien off his brother's tail. Damien squeaked angrily in protest as he began to struggle, but his father's grip restraining him was way too strong for him to fight.  Slash started to hold Damien securely in arms, as Valarie tried to soothe the now crying Axel.

"He takes after you, too." Valarie added, after she managed to calm Axel down.  Slash simply stood up, holding the struggling pup in his arms, and looked to Valarie in amusement as she stood, too.

"Teh… Well Axel's sensitive like you. He definitely cries more.."

Valarie smiled softly, as she started to rub Axel's belly; which caused him to let out a soft, cute purr. "So? He's still a good pup."

"Yeah, and so is Damien." Slash added himself, only to scowl when Damien starts biting on his hand. It didn't hurt him, since Damien had no teeth, and he was still too small and weak to exert much force, but it still made Slash let out a low snort. "Alright, not so good pup… But still."

They both looked to each other with the same, happy grin, as they made their way back to the house together. Their little, needy pups strengthening their close bond even more.
